Anger & Life Force Energy ❤️‍🔥

Mars, which is the planetary helper of Aries & Scorpio, provides motivation, courage, energy... and it represents our relationship to anger. In sessions, sometimes there can be an understandable resistance or fear that enters the space when Mars is discussed. It can be hard to acknowledge anger.

Anger most often comes up when we've submitted to something our soul was never okay with in the first place. Of course, there are times when anger is an immediate protective instinct, or in the Christian mystic tradition what's called the "holy no", which can help us uphold boundaries and respond appropriately. But if we get super honest, our anger often has more to do with a role we keep accepting in a dynamic, whether the dynamic is relational or circumstantial (i.e. sitting in traffic, etc.).

I bring up Anger because it's one of many energies of Aries season, and you may encounter this vital life force energy more frequently right now in different forms. With Venus entering Aries April 5th, the eclipse on April 8th, and Mercury turning retrograde in Aries April 1- April 24, it would benefit our relationships, minds and spirits to cleanse our connection with anger. 

All anger is, essentially, is pent up Life Force Energy. Anger is not a destructive, explosive behavior toward others. That's toxicity, not anger.

Staying in anger isn't the answer either.

Anger is the Life Force Energy that, when cultivated, culminates in Change that can be a win-win for everyone. Anger happens when it's time to grow! It is transmuted when we listen to it, respect it, and point its arrows back inward: what is our role in the pattern that's producing the frustration? Whether it's a job or a relationship or a circumstance, how can we use anger to clarify our own energies around it? 

The Ego does not love this process because it typically results in internal and/or external change... but Spirit Loves it. 

 The Elements and their Anger Process

It's helpful to have a reading to learn your elemental disposition to understand how these anger processes can apply to you. People are surprised to find that even if their Sun is in a Fire sign for example, that they carry more of a different element in their Cosmological Spirit. For instance, I have a Libra Sun, but I have double the amount of Water in my Spirit than Air!

Air Signs - Gemini, Libra, Aquarius:  Be mindful of analysis paralysis -- questioning if the anger has a right to exist or going straight into a nervous system flight or freeze response. All feelings are valid, the anger exists, so what's next? When refined, these signs are thoughtful, fair, and diplomatic, capable of transmuting their anger into a victory for all parties.

Earth Signs - Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn: Be mindful of stubborn, or repetitive anger patterns, "holding on" -- a refusal to move one's hooves in order to keep the status quo. When refined, these signs are patient, methodical, and resourceful: they can allow their anger to be transmuted into grounded, tangible solutions.

Water Signs - Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces: Be mindful of the culmination of anger turning to thunderstorms unleashed on others -- can sometimes confuse anger as sadness preventing its movement. When refined, these signs are highly intuitive and emotionally intelligent; the psychological, even spiritual source of the anger, can easily be discovered. 

Fire Signs - Aries, Leo, Sagittarius: Be mindful of the desire to "do something" with anger before processing it: either by quickly placing blame, as described by Berner, or unleashing the Anger irrationally onto the Self. When refined, these signs have the healthiest and most powerful relationship to anger of the zodiac, becoming an example for those around them on how to transmute anger into vital life force energy.

I feel the root of the root of Anger is the desire to protect Life, not destroy it. When principles of Life are threatened, anger arises. Because we are living in an inverted world, I think there have been efforts to distort what this beautiful energy really is. Anger is Red, Yellow, and Orange. These energies can clean us and transmute us. When we allow ourselves to feel and process anger, in a private and safe space, we are purified.
