I was listening to a radio show recently, Radio Adagio by Drew Darling. On this New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra, the introduction of this episode was way  too synchronistic not to share it with you. This excerpt reveals exactly what the energy of this Solar Eclipse is calling in for us today:

"Hello to each of you resplendent beings.

What, does that sound like hyperbole? Oh, but no. If we could only see the light glowing from our bodies the way some rare few people can, then we would know, we would see what extraordinary creatures of light we are. If we could but grasp what a unique planet we live on, one that is cherished far and wide for its beauty, then we would know how lucky, how blessed we are to be here. 

I mention all this because too often we take for granted ourselves, the people around us, and the life baubling all around us, allowing it to seem ordinary, humdrum, allowing mention of our magnificence to sound like… fluff. 

Well, let me tell you, I for one was jerked up short out of that daze driving through the hills of Maine where I live. Dark clouds were masting on the eastern horizon as the sun came down to break through them... and with its red spectrum of afternoon light streaming low on the horizon, it was as if a veil was suddenly lifted and the trees turned to flame. I’m telling you, the landscape caught fire. The world turned to gold, bronze, scarlet, and burnt umber.

Set against the backdrop of dark clouds, each tree, each hillside, each person seemed suddenly to radiate its own light... as if each thing were glowing from a light source inside of it. It was so dramatic, I had to get out of my car to take it in. 

I began to speak to another person who had stopped her car to marvel at it all, and said to her, 'It’s the most amazing illusion, that this horizontal darkness in the background makes it seem as though each thing is glowing from within.' She corrected me:

'No, that’s actually how things really are. Everything really does emit the light from its own life force within, but most of us cannot see it because the wavelength of life’s spectrum is beyond what our eyes can see.

This looks like illusion, but actually it’s the other way around. The life we walk through, one day through the next, is the illusion.

But this,' she said with a wide gesture, 'we see what it’s like when the veil is lifted...

Moments like these are a hint, a glimpse of clarity, a privileged peak behind the curtain.'"

Air signs are known for having a twinkle in their eyes, like they've seen this glimpse. And Libra is the combination of Air and Venus, it's the glowing light of a sunset. Its shadow is a tendency to dim down its light to try to harmonize with the energy of others, or worse, to passively laze about under a false light.

With the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra, each of us are tasked by the cosmos to slam SHUT the door on any tendency to dim our own light, and to OPEN to and marvel at that Glowing Light inside of us. 

Putting your hands over your heart and closing your eyes, feeling the glow within you, is a perfect way to set the intention for this eclipse cycle which reverberates its energy for the next 6 months.

There's been a lot of programming, a lot of suppression of the Inner Light we were all born with. The screens don't help, sometimes we go a full day with a glaze over our eyes, just like the radio guy said.

We don't truly see ourselves, we don't truly see others. It's almost like if we took the glaze off, we're afraid the Beauty would devour us. This Solar Eclipse in Libra commands our courage to take the blinders off, to let ourselves Glow, to notice that beautiful Light in all things. It can be overwhelming, but it's the reason we are here in the first place.
